Before installing Barcode Xpress for Node.js, make sure your computer system meets these minimum requirements:

• x86_64 architecture
• Node.js 4.0 or greater and npm
• GCC 4.8.1 or greater
• g++ 4.8.1 or greater
• libstdc++-static 4.8.1 or greater (CentOS requirement only)
• JRE 1.7 or later (to run License Manager and Server Licensing Utility)

Check the Version

To check the version of nodejs, gcc, g++, and java on your machine, use the following code from a Linux terminal:

$ node -v
$ gcc --version
$ g++ -v
$ java -version

Operating Systems

Barcode Xpress for Node.js has been tested on Ubuntu (64-bit) and CentOS (64-bit).   

It should also run on other Linux distributions, as long as they fully satisfy the requirements listed in this section.
